DataMatch Enterprise Documents: Survivorship and Data Enrichment

Survivorship and Data Enrichment

By using this feature you can do the following:

  • Determine the master record (used when you want to deduplicate a data set and want to keep only one record from each group i.e. the master record).
  • Overwrite data based on your criteria.
  • Merge fields.

    1. This column is the Match Definition Criteria.
    2. Select data sets that should be considered in taking data from when overwriting records, master record determination, or data merge.
    3. The operation allows you to decide what record you will use to overwrite, determine master record or merge data
      1. Longest and Shortest: These options are for use with String type data and will select the longest or shortest value, respectively
      2. Min and Max: These options are for use with Numeric type data and will select the smallest or largest value, respectively. Please note that for this operation to work, the entire column (including other data sets mapped to this column)must be numeric. If the column has even 1 string type value, this numeric operation will not work correctly.
      3. From Master: This will take the value from the currently assigned master record.
      4. From The Best Record: This will take the value from the record with the best score in the group. When more than one record exists with the same score, the first occurring record will be used
      5. Merge All Values In One: This option will take the values from all the records in the selected column and merge them into 1 field in a comma-separated format in each of the records of the group.
    4. Activated will activate a selected column for use in overwriting, master record assignment, or data merge (on/off)
    5. Overwrite If – This will overwrite a destination field only if the operator is true:
      1. Field Contains An Empty Value: This will overwrite field contents only if the destination field value is blank.
      2. Field To Overwrite FROM Is Empty: This will overwrite field contents only if the origination field value is blank.
      3. Record Is Selected: This will overwrite field contents only if the destination record has a checkmark in the “Selected” field.
      4.  Record Is Flagged as Not Duplicate: This will overwrite field contents only if the destination record has a checkmark in the “Not Duplicate” field.
      5. Record Is Flagged as Master: This will overwrite field contents only if the destination record has a checkmark in the “Master” field.
    6. Do Not Overwrite If – This will NOT overwrite a destination field if the operator is true:
      1. Field Contains An Empty Value: This will NOT overwrite field contents only if the destination field value is blank.
      2. Field To Overwrite FROM Is Empty: This will NOT overwrite field contents only if the origination field value is blank.
      3. Record Is Selected: This will NOT overwrite field contents only if the destination record has a checkmark in the “Selected” field.
      4. Record Is Flagged as Not Duplicate: This will NOT overwrite field contents only if the destination record has a checkmark in the “Not Duplicate” field.
      5. Record Is Flagged as Master: This will NOT overwrite field contents only if the destination record has a checkmark in the “Master” field.
    7. Once you have configured the desired overwriting or merging settings, you may click this button in order to apply the overwriting or merging.
    8. This button is used to determine the master record once you have configured an operation.
    9. There is a logic here that will allow you to “stack” rules on top of each other. For example, if you are trying to determine master records by multiple criteria, you would place the criteria one after another. If the first criteria result in multiple master records per group, the process will move two the second criteria and so on, until 1 master record per group exists.

How can we help?
